We will work to change attitudes towards disability. This includes building disability-confident and inclusive workforces
What we have done and continue to do:
- Deliver the Disability Liaison Officer program with the Department of Health. This program helps people with disability to navigate the health system and access care and treatment.
- Strengthen work across all government departments. This includes supporting the Victorian Disability Advisory Council (VDAC). VDAC promotes co-design and early engagement with people with disability.
Lead division: Disability, Fairness and Emergency Management
Deliver a statewide campaign to celebrate and support LGBTIQA+ communities, including LGBTIQA+ people with disability
What we have done and continue to do:
- Developed the Pride in our future: Victoria's LGBTIQA+ strategy 2022–32.
- Ensure LGBTIQA+ people with disabilities are represented in public-facing products, campaigns and documents.
- Establish the next LGBTIQA+ Disability Inclusion Expert Advisory Group.
Lead division: Disability, Fairness and Emergency Management
Strengthen collaboration and co-design with people with disability in departmental policies, programs and services
What we have done and continue to do:
- Support VDAC and the department’s Enablers Network [1] members to lead the development of products. Ensure products are accessible and shared.
