Ensure we design and build new social housing that delivers more accessible and better-quality homes that meet the needs of people with disability
What we have done and continue to do:
- Increase the supply of accessible social housing for people with disability. This is through the Big Housing Build, Regional Housing Fund and Social Housing Growth Fund.
- New houses will meet at least the silver level in the Liveable Housing Australia guidelines. This includes homes that we fund community organisations to deliver.
- Work with the NDIS to deliver reasonable modifications to existing public housing properties. This will enable people with a disability to remain in their homes if possible.
