Our organisation and the agency Homes Victoria lead the design, development and delivery of housing and homelessness programs, policies and initiatives across the state. We work with our stakeholders, clients and the sector to ensure Victorians who need housing and support have the foundation to live a life they value.
Our housing and homelessness operations:
- support Victorians at risk of or experiencing homelessness who are finding it difficult to secure stable, affordable housing and help them live their best possible life
- manage housing assets that currently house more than 116,000 Victorians
- renew and substantially expand those housing assets by ensuring the $5.3 billion Big Housing Build is delivered on budget and on time
- make sure we have a sustainable housing system that can deliver for generations to come.
The Big Housing Build is the largest social and affordable housing building program in Australia’s history. We’re working closely with industry, the not-for-profit sector and the community to maximise social and economic benefits and to fast-track new social and affordable housing.
