The Victorian autism plan progress report covers the period from December 2023 to December 2024. It updates the Minister for Disability, the three bodies that oversee the Victorian autism plan and the general community on progress made.
Of the 93 actions in the Victorian autism plan, the report shows:
- 10 actions have been completed
- 81 actions are either on track to be completed by December 2025 or are ongoing commitments
- 1 action is delayed
- 1 action was retired.
Progress has been made against the Victorian autism plan’s four key priorities, including:
- early identification and support
- health and wellbeing
- educational and employment pathways
- data and research.
The three governance bodies overseeing the Victorian autism plan include:
- the Autism Plan Advisory Group
- the Victorian Disability Advisory Council
- the Interdepartmental Committee on Disability Reform.
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing shared the progress report with the Autism Plan Advisory Group, and their feedback has been addressed in the final report wherever possible. In some cases, feedback will inform future policy and activity. The Victorian Government will:
- continue to work with the community; and
- is committed to improving inclusion and accessibility for autistic people and the wider disability community.
