The eight new members will join the 15-person council, to help the Victorian Government continue its important work to strengthen services, policy, laws and systems to prevent and respond to family violence.
This is the fifth council since VSAC was established since 2016, in response to a recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
The new VSAC members bring a wide range of lived experience, insights and professional expertise, to help shape Victoria’s family violence initiatives and policies. The council reflects the diversity of the community, including two First Nations community members.
VSAC members inform and influence government policy, legislation and practice in preventing and responding to family and sexual violence.
We thank the outgoing council members for their valuable advice and strong advocacy for victim survivors across Victoria.
The new council members are appointed for a three-year term, which will go through to September 2028.
