The Victorian Government is investing in projects across the state that commemorate veterans' service and support their wellbeing.
We are proud to announce the successful recipients of the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund and Victoria Remembers grant programs.
This latest investment helps honour the service and supports the wellbeing of the veteran community.
Through the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund, we're funding 15 organisations grants of up to $150,000. Funding will ensure veterans and their families can access welfare and wellbeing initiatives.
Recipients include Path of the Horse, who apply equine therapy to veterans affected by mental ill health and social isolation.
Other funded projects include Fragments of Service: The Stories Within. The project is an arts initiative which will bring veterans together through ceramic workshops held across Victoria. Workshops will encourage connections and acknowledge diverse experiences of service.
Victoria Remembers will also provide grants of up to $30,000 to 24 organisations. Funding will support organisations to honour, commemorate and uphold the legacy of ex-service people. It will also educate Victorians about their contributions.
SalamFest Australia will produce Voices of Service, a compelling podcast series and education kit. It is designed to record and share the crucial stories of Muslim men and women who served in the Australian Defence Force.
The Rotary Club of Boronia will support students in grades 5 and 6 to take part in services that commemorate Australians who served in Gallipoli. The 2027 theme of the service will be the role of women medics who served.
The Victorian Government delivers these grants in partnership with the Victorian Veterans Council (VVC). It is part of our ongoing effort to ensure the wellbeing of veterans and their families, while educating Victorians about their service and sacrifice.
