Funding Men’s Sheds to build and improve facilities

More Victorians will be able to learn new skills, build friendships and give back to their communities with grants of up to $100,000 delivered through the 2023–24 Men’s Shed Funding Program.
1 March 2024

This latest grant round will support 28 Men’s Sheds across regional and metropolitan Victoria.

The funding will support the construction of five new sheds, and support upgrades to 23 others. The upgrades include improvement to safety and amenities. These works will all create more opportunities for social inclusion and community connection.

The new sheds are being built in:

  • Benambra,
  • Box Hill,
  • Morwell,
  • Mountain District (Ferntree Gully and surrounds), and
  • Point Cook.

Grants to support refurbishments and upgrades will enable Men's Sheds to

  • install new, or upgrade, dust extraction systems to improve air filtration and safety,
  • install solar power systems to lower running costs, and
  • extend their sheds to create more space for activities.

Men’s Sheds are an important part of our communities. They bring people and communities together. They improve the mental and physical health of members. People can work on common projects, form friendships and give back to their community.

The full list of grant recipients is available on the Men’s Shed program web page.
