It really is such an honour to be out here, to

0:09

welcome you all to the 2025

0:12

Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

0:15

- It’s a massive list of all the people who've done incredible things

0:18

before me, and I'm so excited to now be part of this list as well.

0:25

The Honour Roll is an absolute privilege.

0:27

What it means is that we are being recognised for doing something nice

0:32

in the community and being able to help people that the way that we intend.

0:36

It's a great tribute to women and a great opportunity

0:39

to show the women that come after us what they can do.

0:52

It's like writing an alternative history

0:55

where women are visible, recognised for the contributions

0:59

they make, and encouraged to step up and do more.

1:03

- None of us do it for the recognition, but it's just like a little bit

1:07

nice to know that our achievements are not going unnoticed.

1:17

To me, it's about speaking truth.

1:19

It's about uplifting each other.

1:21

As I think we have to lead in a system where a lot of truth has been taken away.

1:26

This Honour Roll Means,

1:28

A lot more than ever.

1:29

I think the Honour Roll for me, is just an opportunity to pay tribute

1:33

to all of those amazing women that are out there that touch all of our lives,

1:38

and that don't always get the recognition that they deserve.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

We want to hear about women who have made a difference to their communities and have sparked change. Women who are history heroines, local champions, trailblazers, emerging leaders or change agents.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, nominate now! Self-nominations are encouraged too.

Victorian Honour Roll of Women inductees are a long line of strong, bold, brave, skilled, talented and creative women who have changed our world for the better.

They are the women who light the path, lead the way and inspire others to blaze new trails with them. There are outstanding women in every sector and aspect of our lives.

Celebrating the contributions of Victorian women is one way of progressing gender equality in our state. By recognising these women publicly, we are showing girls and women what they can be – because if you can see it, you can be it.

The Victorian Honour Roll of Women is an esteemed tradition. Since 2001, more than 770 women have been honoured for their significant and lasting contribution to Victoria, Australia and beyond.

And now it’s time to nominate for 2026 – someone, or yourself!

A new category has been added this year – History Heroine. The five categories are:

History Heroine – A woman who has created Victorian history, making this great state what it is today. This is a posthumous category for women who have made a difference to Victoria in past years and deserve recognition for their legacy.

Local Champion – An unsung hero whose voluntary or professional contributions to their community deserve wider recognition.

Trailblazer - An inspiring role model leading the way for women in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Emerging Leader - A young woman redefining leadership in their chosen career, field or passion.

Change Agent - A woman who has made an enduring commitment to their field of expertise, interest or work that has brought about significant and lasting change.

Nominations close 11:59pm on Friday 20 March.
