We are proud to be one of the world’s most successful multicultural societies, recognising the important role that preserving cultural heritage, engaging multicultural communities and building social connections has in building a stronger Victoria.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Colin Brooks announced more than $1.2 million in new funding to create more opportunities for multicultural organisations to celebrate and share their culture and traditions with all Victorians.
Funding of up to $50,000 is available for multicultural and multifaith organisations to host community events between 1 July 2023 and 31 December 2023.
Funding streams include:
- Small stream (up to $2,000)
- Medium stream (between $5,000 and $15,000)
- Large stream (between $15,001 and $50,000)
It is important that the benefits of the program reach far and wide, and as such this round of funding will prioritise applications for events in regional and rural areas, as well as those delivered by new and emerging groups, and led by multicultural women.
Sharing and celebrating different cultures through festivals and events fosters a more inclusive state where all Victorians can feel a sense of belonging. We are excited to see these vibrant events come to life.
Applications close at 3pm on Wednesday 5 April 2023. If you would like to discuss this opportunity or learn more, please contact multicultural-festivals.events@dffh.vic.gov.au or call 1300 112 755.
