There is up to $3 million for food relief organisations including Foodbank Victoria, Oz Harvest, Second Bite and FareShare to help across the state.
Regional food relief hubs in flood affected and adjacent areas will also be eligible for grants up to $250,000. These organisations will work with multicultural and First Nations organisations and other local community partners such as neighbourhood houses to provide food supports.
Shepparton Foodshare is also receiving up to $1 million to help them move into a new flood relief food hub and warehouse as their current premises was inundated with floodwaters.
Neighbourhood Houses are key partners in helping to distribute food relief, which is why there will be $500,000 in grants available to enable neighbourhood houses to address damage caused by floods or support impacted communities.
