As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to rebuild and strengthen the volunteer sector, $1 million in grants has been invested to encourage people who have previously volunteered to return, while growing and diversifying the pool of Victorian volunteers.
Applications for the ‘Emerging Stronger’ grants are open and will close on 18 July, with successful applicants due to be announced in early August.
Grants of up to $80,000 are available to support local partnerships and innovation projects to re-engage volunteers, broaden the volunteer base, and strengthen volunteering in local communities.
Successful submissions will demonstrate critical community need and outline the priority sectors, organisations and communities that will be supported. Eligible applicants must have an established partnership or network in place to support the immediate commencement of funded activities.
For more information and to apply, please visit the Emerging Stronger Grants Program website.
Applications close 9am Monday 18 July, 2022.
This investment follows the release of the new Victorian Volunteer Strategy last month, which provides a five-year action plan on how the Victorian Government will promote, build, support and celebrate all forms of volunteering.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2.3 million Victorians were involved with volunteer programs that support communities to be healthier and happier, but today there are up to 50 per cent less volunteers and critical shortages in some areas.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before 9am Monday 4 July 2022.
