Foster and kinship carers play a vital role in our community by keeping children and young people safe and giving them opportunities to thrive.

This week is an annual week of celebration recognising our carers and the invaluable contribution they make to the lives of children, young people, and families in our community.

On an average day, there are approximately 1,600 children and young people in foster care and approximately 7,500 children and young people in kinship care in Victoria.

With your help, Victorian children and young people will be better placed to access safe, secure homes in their community until they can safely return to their family. This Foster Care Week, find out more about becoming a foster carer by visiting Fostering Connections
